It was a cold start to the week, but warmer weather is in the forecast.
Summer is always associated with "beach-body," "abs," "bikini-body," and other seasonal #treds.
We strongly believe fitness isn't a trend. Every body is different. And every body is beautiful. While some can accomplish washboard abs on a simple diet and fitness regime, others have no success with the same routine. Flat abs and thigh gaps do not define health or fitness.
Summer is especially hard for those of us who struggle with body image. The season calls for skirts, summer dresses, and shorts; well, we are here to help.
While "sizeism" isn't something we can fix overnight, we can fix not allowing a dress size or a clothing brand to define our self-worth.
Fitness classes may be means to a short-term goal like weight loss, fitting into old jeans, going a size down for a wedding dress; however, the long-term goal should be a healthy, strong body.
First things first, set realistic goals. The first step to a failed fitness program is unrealistic goals. Fad diets and overwhelming fitness plans can only last so long. Once you've fallen off the wagon, the weight creeps back on.
So fix the facts. Your age, medical history, current fitness level, lifestyle, sleep pattern, food habits, and even your relationships can influence your fitness goals. Keeping these things in mind as you set targets will help you accomplish what you set out to.
